Resonance and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation invest £600,000 to support Nudge Community Builders in revamping an iconic Plymouth building into community spaces.
Target Information
The Wilderness Centre, housed in the historic Millennium Building, has been revitalized through a collaborative effort led by Nudge Community Builders. This iconic structure, originally constructed as a cinema in 1931 and later transformed into a nightclub, has been unused for 17 years. Nudge Community Builders secured the building in part thanks to prior investments from the Rank Foundation and local community shareholders, before it received further backing for restoration.
The latest phase involves a £600,000 investment from Resonance and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, which facilitated the purchase of the remaining half of the building. In addition, a £480,000 grant from the Youth Investment Fund will support crucial internal renovations aimed at creating community spaces for local youth.
