This vessel, named "AL TUWAR" after a hill in Al Wakrah, Qatar, is being built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. It is the first of twelve new LNG carriers commissioned for QatarEnergy, one of the world’s largest LNG producers.
Scheduled to commence operations in May 2023, the "AL TUWAR" represents a significant development, as it underscores the joint venture’s commitment to enhancing the LNG shipping business. The design includes state-of-the-art technology aimed at maximizing fuel efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
