Forest Partners enhances its private equity division by appointing Kim Seok-kyun, an M&A expert, aiming to expand investment capabilities in high-growth sectors.

Forest Partners, a private equity firm, has recently announced the appointment of Kim Seok-kyun, a former head of the restructuring division at the Korea Development Bank (KDB), as the head of its private equity (PE) division. With over a decade of experience in M&A at KDB, Kim brings substantial expertise in managing significant investment projects, including successful negotiations for high-profile sales such as Kumho Tire. Prior to joining Forest Partners, he also served as the CEO of Seoul Airport Limousine, the second-largest airport bus transportation company in South Korea, after managing its portfolio under Mirae Asset Asset Management PE.

The PE division at Forest Partners has now expanded to include four investment professionals following Kim's appointment. Among the team is Operating Partner Kang Kyung-hoon, who previously served as COO at Lezhin Entertainment and held key positions at JP Morgan in Hong Kong, HSBC PE, and as the CEO of Uber Korea. In addition to Kang, the team includes Director Heo Jun-young, who has extensive experience with advisory firms and investment companies, including Accenture and Standard Chartered PE.
