Leonardo has announced the successful closing of the transaction involving the sale of its Underwater Armaments & Systems (UAS) business line to Fincantieri. This deal was based on a binding agreement signed on May 9, 2024, and upon closing, Leonardo received a payment of €287 million, reflecting a fixed Enterprise Value component of €300 million. Additionally, a variable component of up to €115 million and standard price adjustments will be determined following the approval of UAS’s financial results for the fiscal year 2024. The total maximum Enterprise Value is €415 million.
The Underwater Armaments Systems division, known as Whitehead Alenia Sistemi Subacquei S.p.A., is a longstanding subsidiary of Leonardo, specializing in the manufacturing of underwater defense systems, including torpedoes, countermeasures, and sonar technology.
