Duratex, the largest producer of industrialized wood panels and sanitary wares in the Southern Hemisphere and the leading supplier of laminated flooring in Brazil, has announced its acquisition of 100% of the shares of Ceusa, one of the country’s top ceramic tile manufacturers, for R$ 280 million. This strategic move allows Duratex to enter the ceramic coatings market, aiming to enhance sales by providing comprehensive solutions for various environments.
The acquisition contract is subject to certain conditions and must receive approval from CADE (Administrative Council for Economic Defense) before it can be finalized. Ceusa, known for its innovative approach, has maintained a strong market position with continuous growth even amidst economic downturns. In 2016, Ceusa reported a net revenue of R$ 162 million and an EBITDA of R$ 31 million, showing significant performance in the first half of 2017 with R$ 92 million in revenue and R$ 18 million in EBITDA.
