Adani Power Limited (APL), a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has commissioned its first 800 MW ultra-super-critical thermal power generation unit at Godda in Jharkhand, India. This unit has begun supplying 748 MW of power to Bangladesh. The introduction of energy from the Godda Power Plant is expected to significantly improve the energy landscape in Bangladesh by replacing the expensive liquid fuel-powered electricity currently used.
The Godda Power Plant is a strategic asset in enhancing collaborations between India and Bangladesh. The facility is designed to be one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly thermal power plants, equipped with advanced technologies such as Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).
